Whether it’s on a small or large scale, almost all of us have faced anxiety. Here are a few small tips that may help reduce it.

1. Music

Researchers have noted that listening to music can be effective in reducing high levels of anxiety. Music helps facilitate relaxation and can also be used as a distraction.

Classical music and soft pop are the most helpful, as they have necessary elements that provide relaxation.

Personally, when I’m feeling down, I listen to lofi-beats. :)

Here’s a link to a Spotify playlist.

2. Deep breaths and online resources

I know this is the first thing people tell you to do if you're anxious, but it truly works. Just take a minute to calm yourself and take a few deep breaths. Focus on your surroundings, and feel the air as it enters your body.

Some websites that might help are:

7cups for online therapy

Pixel thoughts for meditation

Rainy mood for calming sounds of rain

Sandbox, can make fun neon flames

3. Friends and Family

When I’m anxious, I often find it helpful to talk to my friends or loved ones. Even if you're not comfortable talking about your feelings with them, just talking about regular matters helps to distract.

Instead of dwelling on your thoughts and getting lost in a spiral, it helps to let loose and talk about smaller things.

4. Exercise

By exercise, I don’t mean you need to work out, but getting a few minutes of proper physical activity helps you stay refreshed. It doesn’t have to be a lot: a 10-minute walk is good enough.

Furthermore, don’t stay put in one place for too long. Get up and stretch your limbs from time to time. It releases endorphins, the feel-good chemicals, and enhances your sense of well-being.

5. Sleep

Sleep is super important!! It has been known for a while that there is a significant connection between insufficient sleep and anxiety. Sleep is important for both your physical and mental well-being; furthermore, a good night’s sleep can help you stay alert and refreshed, substantially reducing anxiety.

In case your anxiety is a serious concern and hampers your day-to-day activities, please consult a professional. Always remember that it is not your fault.

I hope this article helps :)
